We are not able to offer crisis support between session times.

Additionally due to the nature of our work we are not always able to respond to messages or calls. For this reason we request that you direct any urgent issues regarding risk/advice to other agencies as appropriate.

Below is a list of agencies you could contact – it might be an idea to share with a close friend or family member for support.

In terms of support from ourselves at The Psychology Place

You may be given a mobile number or email for your treating therapist but this is only to be used to cancel sessions or rearrange appointments as required.

It should not be used for emergency support and will not be answered out of hours.

It may also be some time before the clinician can answer during the working day due to other appointments therefore it should not be used in an emergency situation.

The clinician may also be on leave or on training and would not answer the telephone during such periods.

If you require intensive support then our service is not suited to your needs and we would recommend you see your GP to discuss the best care package for you via the NHS.

GP - You can request an urgent appointment to discuss your concerns in terms of mental health or emotional crisis issues.
